Cesar Estrany soon developed his skill for painting portraits. His first exhibition entirely devoted to portrait took place in Tortosa in 1974. Nowadays, portraying plays a key role in the painter's work Cesar Estrany is renowed in both Spain and in the Middle East for his technical ability, use of both charcoal and colour and eye for detail in his portraits.

The painter also presents a small selection of cat portraits as a tribute to the most popular pet in the Western world
