Other techniques
Although Cesar Estrany at present time uses pastel as one of his most predominant techinques, the painter, in his prolific past, has used other techniques in which his mastership can be easily appreciated, such as:
1. Watercolour
Highly influenced by the painters Mariano Fortuny and Casanovas Estorach's watercolours, Cesar Estrany uses the watercolour technique mostly for the human figure.
2. Graphite
Considered as Cesar Estrany's first learning technique in his childhood.
3. Sanguine
Cesar Estrany used both sanguine and graphite techniques mostly during his university years.
4. “Cochinilla” or red ink
A complicated method of use of this technique based on a natural red-colouring element, Cesar Estrany occasionally makes use of it due to the beautiful results of this technique when applied on paper.
5. Sepia
Considered as one of his main drawing techniques, his book Dibuixos (amb algun mot) sobre temes clàssics is a good example of its application.
